透过单日卖空交易（IDSS），投资者将可先卖出手中未持有的股票，然后在同一个交易日的迟些时间内，再以低价买进股票。

例如，当你预计Maybank股价会在当天收市时下跌，那你就可以考虑在上午开市时先卖出，然后在收市前再买进。这样一来你就可以赚取之间的差价。

如果Maybank开市时的股价是RM10.60，你预计收市时的股价是RM10.50。透过单日卖空交易，你就可以赚取每股10仙的盈利。若你卖1000股的话，你就可以在当天赚取RM100的差价。
