If the issue is really just shares × dividend per share, then yes, the explanation sounds weak. But the more interesting question is what happened at the broker/platform level. How many accounts selected DRP but were forced into cash dividend because of the court-related restriction?

Anyone who has worked in a finance department knows it’s not simply “calculate and transfer.” If the system has mismatched instructions, a normal SOP may be to hold the affected payment first rather than risk transferring cash wrongly, then reverse and refund later. That can actually create even more delay.

So before blaming the company, shouldn’t we first establish whether this is a broker/platform processing issue or something else?
