@Jegan, relax. The management is laying their foundation at the moment. They are putting their money in all the right places.
In 5G alone, analysts estimate Edotco and Axiata can generate revenue 7bil-10bil for Edotco and 20-35bil MYR over 5 years. Telenor, Axiata's one of major shareholders has stakes in Celcom & Digi. U-Mobile's 5G implementation is backed by Telenor also provide it with technical expertise & financial support.
Vivek Sood, GCEO & MD of the COMPANY got onboard in 2021. Vivek Sood is of Indian nationality. He was from Telenor Group, Deutsche Telecom & Ericsson. He also has expressed his interest in acquiring some stakes in Axiata.
Sheyantha Abeykoon, a Sri Lankan, Chartered Management Accountant, obtained MBA from The Wharton School and undergraduate degree from the University of London. His expertise is in Digital services. He is the one who set up Boost Bank. Axiata, reported that Boost's Gross Transaction Value (GTV) exceeded RM5.6 billion in 2024, a significant increase from RM4.9 billion in 2021. Boost Bank is projected to break even in 3–5 years time. RHB Bank is Axiata's partner in Boost Bank.
@Yike, my dear friend. Anything that associates with Elon Musk gets burnt e.g. Tesla sales are down double digit %, ppl in US burn Tesla recharging stations, vandalizing Tesla showrooms NOT only in US but also in Italy. They even went further by replacing TESLA logo with T O Y O T A at the back of their Cybertrucks in the US.
Elon Musk associate himself with the Nazi & white extremists, Apartheid. Get far away from that junk, Starlink. Look at its specs. Its crude & slow. Starlink is DEAD.
@Jegan, I am not working with Axiata. I have been in the market since 2008. Am ex O&G specialist. Commute to work by heli. Decided to quit my job and try my luck in KLSE.
One piece of advise for you. KEEP YOUR EMOTIONS ASIDE.
Behind Every Threat, there is an OPPORTUNITY.
Must put your brain to work, man.
@Yike, its not cost effective. Why should we own our own satellite where we want to provide services to the most unhabitatable, secluded, remote area in Indonesia. Unlike Elon Musk, he thought he can provide this services around the world. That's different. He has volume. where Indonesia doesnt.
@Kumbar, that is true. But the latest development is Axiata has a subsidiary, Edotco. Edotco specializes in building telecom towers. U-Mobile is awarded by MCMC to provide 2nd 5G telecommunication in Malaysia. U-Mobile in turn pick Edotco as their telecom tower provider. This will add extra revenue to Axiata.
I share what I found with you, guys.
I hope we all can make some money in Axiata.
If I am wrong, Axiata's share price will keep dropping. But its very unlikely.
Major fund managers have their own analysts. They do research and give their recommendations to their buyers & seller brokers.
Lets see how this play out.
@nazr011 this is typical fallacy... even you are right, doesnt stop the share from falling when its need to fall, esp when big shark want it to drop to collect more. also often see bad result doesnt stop share to go up up up... when shark want to push it.
