KUALA LUMPUR: Bintai Kinden Corp Bhd’s subsidiary Bintai Healthcare Sdn Bhd has received the official Certificate of Conformity in Good Distribution Practice for Medical Devices (GDPMD) from Medivice Certification Sdn Bhd for its Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box designed for the storage and distribution of Covid-19 vaccine.
Medivice is an approved certification body by the Medical Device Authority (MDA).
In a statement, Bintai Kinden said the GDPMD certification would allow the company to act as local authorised representative, import, storage and handling, distribution (including transportation) and documentation (including traceability) of medical devices warehousing and documentation of medical devices, specifically in hospital hardware and reusable devices.
Executive vice chairman Ibrahim Othman said the certification would pave the way for the company to start selling the Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box in Malaysia.
“This is the first step in order for the company to be able to be legally allowed to market, distribute and sell the Greenie Medi Cold Chain Box produced by SLAB Asia Co Ltd Korea in Malaysia.
“The next immediate step is for Bintai Healthcare to submit for the MDA establishment license which will ensure that the company is in full compliance with the Ministry of Health and the MDA's requirements for a company to be a licensed distributor of medical supplies,” he added.
