KUALA LUMPUR (March 18): Lembaga Tabung Haji declared a profit distribution rate of 3.50% after zakat for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2025 (FY2025).

A total of RM3.22 billion will be distributed to 9.70 million depositors of the pilgrimage fund versus RM2.92 billion to 9.54 million depositors in FY2024, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Dr Zulkifli Hasan.

Depositors can check their credited profit distribution beginning 10am on March 19, 2026, via the THiJARI platform, TH counters, and partner banking channels including Bank Islam, Bank Rakyat, Maybank Islamic, CIMB Islamic and AmBank Islamic.

Tabung Haji also declared a zakat of 2.58% for FY2025, bringing total payments to all state Islamic religious councils on behalf of depositors to RM95.3 million.

Zakat obligations are automatically fulfilled with Tabung Haji, meaning that depositors do not need to pay further zakat on the savings to the states.

Diversified asset base

Tabung Haji recorded total investment income of RM4.64 billion in FY2025, slightly higher than RM4.56 billion a year earlier, as it raised its exposure to equities market amid portfolio diversification efforts.

Private equity is now the top-performing asset class for the fund, delivering a return on investment of 8.29%, supported by stronger realisation activities during the year. Meanwhile, foreign equities generated a return of 7.03%, outperforming domestic equities, which posted a 5.47% gain.

Fixed-income accounts for 53% of Tabung Haji’s total assets, followed by equities at 35%, and the remainder are in real estate, money market instruments and other assets.

The real estate investments delivered a stable 5.03% return, while fixed income yielded 4.41%.

Overall, the pilgrim fund has about 86% of its income from domestic investments. The fund is now managing assets worth RM98.58 billion, slightly above liabilities of RM95.63 billion.
