过去，我们经常都会听闻，中国人不带“钱”出门，只需一机在手，再扫一扫码，就能完成交易了。甚至就连街边的小贩们，也都纷纷地加入无现金支付行列，因此改变了当地的消费支付模式与习惯。
在无现金支付的便利下，一些商家亦告示不接受现金，过去曾有听闻游客到中国支付现金时吃闭门羹。
回到我国方面，在过去数年，在政府积极推广无现金支付上，如今已取得相当良好的进展。
根据威士（VISA）公司在2023年发布的消费者支付态度调查报告显示，在每10名大马人当中，有7人“活跃”于使用无接触式支付系统。
该报告预计，我国将在2030年可实现无现金社会，即大部分消费者将会使用无现金支付方式，不再以现金进行交易。
相关报告也指出，将近一半的消费者，如今钱包所随身携带的现金，相比以前已有所减少。
