wait for Friday and see how much is the allocation for NSS. The NSS involves three phases, with targets that include a total
investment of RM500 billion by 2030, developing local semiconductor related companies to be global champions - this was the aspiration when it was launched and time for actions (development expenditure allocation for NSS) to meet the goal of advancing towards high-end manufacturing, semiconductor/IC design, enhanced OSAT, advanced packaging, and sophisticated semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
development expenditure spending by government/investment arms will have great impact to the industry :) If you look at historical budget allocation for development expenditure, transportation is taking up the biggest chunk ~20% while trade and industry ~3%. NSS aspiration is noble and visionary but it has to be followed up with actions aka investments.
I agreed that its not bad. well, unless the expectation is to keep moving up in a straight line. it rebounded from the low of 12 cents and quite a few eyeing to drop off near 0.20. I think its not bad at all as many got to pocket in decent gains :)
good or bad it depends on the individual perspective. some ppl see price drop is a bad sign, but some other ppl see that is normal. a healthy stock doesn't move in a straight line. it is called "goreng stock" usually moving in straight line. I trust this stock till now. And planning to add more my holding.
Hot money flowing into semiconductor sectors :) RM550 million allocation for semiconductor ecosystem development, RM500 million in loans under the National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS), and RM180 million for industrial development in AI and digital sectors. The launch of SemiconStart, a global incubator for semiconductor startups, reinforces Malaysia’s ambition to transition from “Made in Malaysia” to spurring Malaysian innovation. Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs) under the GEAR-uP program will increase domestic investments to RM30 billion in 2026 (up RM5 billion from 2025) to scale local companies in strategic growth sectors.
Local companies and semiconductor ecosystems :) Basically local companies within the semiconductor value chain - wafer fab; assembly, test and packaging; EMS; IC design; precision machining/tooling and equipment manufacturers; including infrastructure ecosystem - cleanroom and industrial gases.
