while malaysia market is illiquid, it is also an opportunity to hold on to good stocks. it can swing high irrationally :) just need to have lots of patience. recession / low cycle / temporary disruptions is an opportunity to get on board :)
lets see whether the growth in optical/photonics industry will increase cnergen's orderbook further; driving new smt machines/integration and ict machines.
OK. Q1 report showing orderbook at 82mil as of Mar and I am hoping Cnergenz will secure more orders in Q2. The growth in optical/silicon photonics should drive new smt/integration machines accordingly. ICT and x-ray inspection capabilities are the two features needed as part of the testing/inspection of silicon photonics process. Aging SMT machines should be replaced too to cope up with the packaging technology.
it was triggered by Adama and I just saw the news yesterday night, t&s. What is important now is to see how much is the integration line orderbook. FY25 was practically 0 and it was slightly more than 20mil as of Mar'26. At 190mil orderbook, I am assuming the integration line orderbook should at least doubled up too bringing it to ~45mil/higher. This segment is important as it has higher margin compared to the standalone SMT machine.
we just have to manage our own positions well and hopefully the weakened regional chip stocks sentiment due to overvaluations will provide opportunity to accumulate at lower price.
extracted from the recent AGM minutes - (1) Xlent Innovator Sdn. Bhd. (“Xlent Innovator”), received a Supplier Recognition Award from key client, Teradyne, Inc. This is coming from automated inline tester for AI data centres developed in collaboration with Teradyne :) The system had already been deployed in the United States and Taiwan, with encouraging demand from leading AI chip manufacturers. (2) the Group’s key initiatives and developments during FY2025: focus on advanced test solutions, alongside progress in smart automation, smart warehousing, smart factory solutions, and in-house software integration, all of which strengthen the Group’s manufacturing ecosystem. (3) On the hardware side, the Group continued to advance SMT production in collaboration with partners such as ASMPT SMT Solutions, ITW EAE, ASM Assembly Systems (DEK), and Asscon. In addition, the Group expanded into the advanced test equipment segment through partnerships with leading brands such as Koh Young, Techvalley, Teradyne and Seica, positioning itself as a comprehensive solutions provider rather than merely an equipment supplier.
that will be limit up liao, adama. But it all depends on how much is the SMT integration line orderbook and Teradyne's inline tester demand as of Jun'26. FY26 net profit potentially near to FY23 performance
Yeah, the smt integration line segment has a gross margin of slightly more than 20%. A 45mil orderbook ~ 9mil gross profit :) not sure how much is the total orderbook though.
valuation does not matter until it matters most, t&s :) orderbook increased to 190mil as of May'26, new factory will be completed next year, advanced packaging/silicon photonics driving the needs for new SMT/inline tester and recent DBT at 0.50 can be used as a good baseline for opportunity to add on if available :) well, we probably need to be cautious if p/b for cnergenz is at 4.0 or higher. Until then, just chillax and manage it one qtr at a time and ride the growth in orderbook.
looking forward to the orderbook details especially the smt integration line and Teradyne's inline tester; the former is high margin segment and the latter is inorganic growth
I did not go into the details of MI and Vitrox's reports but I am assuming the equipment sales should be good. Cnergen specialises in SMT/PCB industry and should be enjoying robust sales too.
hello mil cookie. I thought it will be at 7th floor before the report is out :) nevertheless, looking forward to it and wondering how much is the smt integration orderbook - will be really strong if it is higher than 45mil
you may want to wait until the qr season ends first, mil cookie. in terms of radar, I bought two new stocks back in end of july. just a small position as the qr is around the corner and taking some calculated risk here. will add if the results are trending/inline with expectations. notion (0.505) and aimflex (0.115). Eyeing potential earnings recovery for Notion and early positive signs in Aimflex from q1fy26 versus a bad FY25. I have sold out natgate recently too as I bought it slightly below 0.90 and sold out at 1.22. Bought it for the optical/silicon photonics prospect but sold it out as its beginning to be euphoric; runs ahead of the earnings/fundamentals.
lets not forget that cnergen is considered illiquid due to small nosh and top 30 holding ~92%, 馬拉ck. rest is a good opportunity to add if you will :) however, if top 30 makes a move, it will not be a rest anymore.
can go the other way too, 馬拉ck. the risk of being illiquid. However, top30 shareholders and insiders are pretty chill so far - holding their positions tightly.
cheng....thanks for ur detailed sharing!! i hv traded notion a few times, and since my last purchase in last year, i've been holding it till now bcuz missed the good chance to sell it in oct... now I’m waiting for it to get back to around RM0.80
As for aimflex, i cut loss long time ago... it was a nightmare having bought into that company! i cant recall the price i cut loss at cux i hv closed my rakuten account...
