Say if I buy before ex-date (4June) then sell it after ex-date (6June)... can I still get the dividend?
Raymond Au
Yes you’re entering the dividend, last time I also same thinking like you . Example I brought Rm9,000 for 1,000 unit tomorrow is ex-date dividend is 0.320 so the price will change to Rm8,680 for 1,000 unit ..

How to sell it? Wait the price raised back to 9.100 to paying brokerage fee :)

I now understanding what Raymond was explained about, so after the dividend payout date, the price will drop to rm8680, this price will only reflected on ur own account? but the market price still rm9 per unit right? need to wait for 60 days to qualified the full dividend?

I think I understand now,
stock price is RM 10 on normal day
on ex-dividend date, it will drops to rm9 ,let say rm1 as dividend, to offset the paid amount

then those bought the stock on just before ex-dividend date will have to wait the stock rise back to rm10 to enjoy the earning
